fragrance.osi

' of woods in the winds '

walled by a silken tablecloth
'neath the dining table
its carved legs of oak
her susurrus woods
smell of deodorant and varnish
from that dreamy retreat
as life woofs and wefts
a toddler crosses the patina
of those ' wonderland ' silks
breaks free of the chrysalis
facing the hints and the scents
of thyme, birch, or balsam
holding inside her lungs
that forest in the breeze

( in about half a breath ) ..

  5. This is so evocative...I felt like I was breathing in the scent of each line. Wonderful interpretation of the prompt Zoya.

  8. Remind me of the first time we went on a field trip to the forest ... and getting my first smell of what I know now was a sweet shrub bush. Well done, as always.

  9. Even tho the wood was taken from the woods the table retained the fragrance of nature.
