'fragrance'
this seed of existence
forks out into roots
a survival logic
invents its options
thus a living quest
keeps branching upwards
the bifurcations lead
maybe to a dead end
or a destination
of the vibrant green leaf
a happy flower
springing from the earth
on the road to fragrance ..

A beautiful take on the prompt.

Exquisite! All the reaching those roots do holds the earth together on the road to becoming--almost nothing.
ReplyDeleteI really like this. Was going to cut and paste a portion but then realised I like the whole bang shoot to much to choose.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great take on the prompt Zoya. The last few lines are my favorite..."destination of the vibrant green leaf" just lovely!
ReplyDeleteHugs, G

springing from the earth."
a marvelous metaphor for this prompt...with lovely images of the new season!
ReplyDeleteDear zoya--
ReplyDeleteYou've done it again--
You are a masterful poet. I really liked this understanding of the prompt--of dead ends and vibrancy--nothing but the survival instinct to lead.
Many, many thanks--
