' fractured hourglass '
face the blues in irises fine
gaze at an infinitude shine
interface with galactic joys
without purpose,reason or rhyme
if only i had time
hitchhiking on nomadic clouds
a way away from 'madding crowds' *
join a shamen or the maci
shadow a lion in his prime
if only i had time
grasp the fun of a grizzly roll
watch a giant panda cajole
and bend a bamboo shoot so green
as laughter becomes life's enzyme
if only i had time
count the stairs at khajuraho
ascend the hills of idaho
in a consciousness of no curbs
echo that one moment sublime
if only i had time
assimilate the words unfurled
in an ordinary people's world
and look for splinters of the heart
in a rubble of dreams and grime
if only i had time ..

What a beautiful, wistful drama! Love the pulse of "If only I had time" beating through the reflections! Wonderful reading expereince! Almost evolves as a song!
ReplyDeleteThat was excellent. Marvellous musings.
ReplyDeleteI like the way the adventures led straight to the heart. If only I had time.
ReplyDelete'in an ordinary people's world' really struck a chord with me. Being ordinary isn't really all that ordinary, is it?
ReplyDelete"words unfurled" is so nice, it will stay with me
ReplyDeletea way away from maddening crowds <-- love that! As usual deep, thoughtful, lovely.
ReplyDeletelove the repetive rhythm. Thank you for this journey.
ReplyDeleteI love traveling, the cheapest way in through poetry ... I so love this style, and the rhyming is smoking! A wonderful read.
ReplyDeleteI truly like the rhythm of this piece. There is indeed so much wonder to be observed and you have said that clearly. You have some amazing lines in here: laughter becomes life's enzyme---super.

ReplyDelete"OSI If I only had time -
The inclusion of the Hardy and temple references blend into this very well - it has the feel of your own personal mythology!"

ReplyDeleteWow! Doing all this will take a lot of time. I hope you find a way to 'have the time.'
ReplyDeleteZoya, I enjoyed this immensely. One of my ambitions has been to go to the South Pole. I didn't have the time when I was younger, now that I have the time I am too old.

Just beautiful. We all feel the cold breeze that is time. It would truly be nice to stop and see all the wonders of this world. Well done my friend.

Yes. I still struggle to bury my religiosity and find a way to let the electro-chemical synaptic activity find a way to embrace the spiritual.
ReplyDeleteOnce bitten thrice shy!
I know that I can't MacGyver my way through my cosmology with pure science but I am very nervous and hesitant to get too close to any flickering bushes..never mind the burning variety.
Perhaps that part of me is permanently broken..it would be a shame.
Simply loved each line.
ReplyDeleteThank You for sharing.
Well done Beth! Love it....
